  • 【专利】 METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSPARENT DISPLAY USING UP-CONVERTING NONOPARTICLES

    摘要:Disclosed herein are transparent color displays with nanoparticies made with nonlinear materials and/or designed to exhibit optical resonances. These nanoparticies are embedded in or hosted on a transparent substrate, such as a flexible piece of clear plastic or acrylic. Illuminating the nanoparticies with invisible light (e.g., infrared or ultraviolet light) causes them to emit visible light. For example, a rare-earth doped nanoparticle may emit visible light when illuminated simultaneously with a first infrared beam at a first wavelength λ1 and a second infrared beam at a second wavelength λ2. And a frequency-doubling nanoparticle may emit visible light when illuminated with a single infrared beam at the nanoparticle's resonant frequency. Selectively addressing these nanoparticies with appropiately selected pump beams yields visible light emitted from the nanoparticies hosted by the transparent substrate in a desired pattern.

    摘要:Transparent displays enable many usefiil applications, including heads-up displays for cars and aircraft as well as displays on eyeglasses and glass windows. Unfortunately, transparent displays made of organic light-emitting diodes are typically expensive and opaque. Heads-up displays often require fixed light sources and have limited viewing angles. And transparent displays that use frequency conversion are typically energy inefficient. Conversely, the present transparent displays operate by scattering visible light from resonant nanoparticles with narrowband scattering cross sections and small absorption cross sections. More specifically, projecting an image onto a transparent screen doped with nanoparticles that selectively scatter light at the image wavelength(s) yields an image on the screen visible to an observer. Because the nanoparticles scatter light at only certain wavelengths, the screen is practically transparent under ambient light. Exemplary transparent scattering displays can be simple, inexpensive, scalable to large sizes, viewable over wide angular ranges, energy efficient, and transparent simultaneously.

    摘要:Disclosed is an electric tool component, comprising an electric tool and a cyclone dust collector. The cyclone dust collector comprises a negative pressure generating module (1), a cyclone separation module (2) and a dust collection module (3). The dust collection module (3) comprises a base plate (31). The negative pressure generating module (1) and the cyclone separation module (2) are fixedly mounted on the base plate (31), and the base plate (31) is constructed to be suitable for supporting a barrel dust collection container (33) when the cyclone dust collector is used. The negative pressure generating module (1) is provided with an air suction port and an air discharge port, and the air discharge port is in communication with the outside. The cyclone separation module (2) comprises: a cyclone separator (21) provided with an input port, an air input port and a dust output port; a connection pipe (22) connected between an air outlet port of the cyclone separator (21) and the air suction port of the negative pressure generating module (1); and a dust suction pipe (23), an end thereof being connected to the input port of the cyclone separator (21) and the other end being configured to be suitable for connecting to the electric tool.

    摘要:A transparent display includes nanoparticles having wavelength-selective scattering (e.g., resonant scattering) to preferentially scatter light at one or more discrete wavelengths so as to create images. The nanoparticles transmit light at other wavelengths to maintain a high transparency of the display. The nanoparticles are disposed in proximity to a thin film, which can enhance the scattering the process by reflecting light back to the nanoparticles for re-scattering or increasing the quality factor of the resonant scattering.

    摘要:An organic dye laser produces a continuous-wave (cw) output without any moving parts (e.g., without using flowing dye streams or spinning discs of solid-state dye media to prevent photobleaching) and with a pump beam that is stationary with respect to the organic dye medium. The laser's resonant cavity, organic dye medium, and pump beam are configured to excite a lasing transition over a time scale longer than the associated decay lifetimes in the organic dye medium without photobleaching the organic dye medium. Because the organic dye medium does not photobleach when operating in this manner, it may be pumped continuously so as to emit a cw output beam. In some examples, operation in this manner lowers the lasing threshold (e.g., to only a few Watts per square centimeter), thereby facilitating electrical pumping for cw operation.

  • 【专利】 APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR SPECTROSCOPY AND BROADBAND LIGHT EMISSION USING TWO-DIMENSIONAL PLASMON FIELDS

    摘要:Ultra-thin conductors are employed to generate plasmon fields near the surface of the conductors. Emitters, such as atoms, molecules, quantum dots, or quantum wells, in the plasmon fields can emit and absorb light via transitions that are otherwise forbidden in the absence of the plasmon fields. Applications using these forbidden transitions include spectroscopy, organic light sources, and broadband light generation. For example, in a spectroscopic platform, an emitter is disposed in the plasmon fields to excite electronic transitions that are otherwise unexcitable. In organic light sources, plasmon fields quench excited triplet states, allowing fast singlet decay with the emission of light. In broadband light generation, strong two-plasmon spontaneous emission of emitters near ultrathin conductors is employed to produce a broad spectrum of light.

    摘要:A circular saw comprises a base plate (1) defining a base plane, a bevel bracket (12) which supports a circular saw blade (10) and is pivotally mounted on the base plate (1) for tilting the blade (10), the bevel bracket (12) having a pivoting axis (X) which is parallel to the base plane and the blade (10) and perpendicular to a rotational axis of the blade, and the blade partly extending through an opening (8) forming in the base plate (1), and an anti-splinter device (100) for preventing cutting chips from splintering. The anti-splinter device comprises a pair of slides (30, 40) mounted in the opening and forming a gap between their opposing ends, an outcoming section of the blade (10) passing through the gap, and slide driving means (50) associated with the bevel bracket and driving the slides (30,40) to move in conformity with the tilting of the blade (10) to allow the gap to accommodate the positional change of the outcoming section of the blade (10).

    摘要:A hand-held power tool (10a; 10b), in particular a drill hammer and/or a chisel hammer, comprises a striking mechanism (12a; 12b) to produce a striking pulse along a striking axis (14a; 14b) and a drive unit (16a; 16b) to drive at least the striking mechanism (12a; 12b). Moreover, the hand-held power tool (10a; 10b) comprises a housing (18a; 18b) that surrounds at least the striking mechanism (12a; 12b) and the drive unit (16a; 16b) and comprises at least one main handle (20a; 20b) which is connected to the housing (18a; 18b) and which can be gripped by an operator. At least the bulk of the main handle (20a; 20b) is located in the housing (18a; 18b) on a first side of the striking axis (14a; 14b), and at least the bulk of the drive unit (16a; 16b) is located in the housing (18a; 18b) on a second side (22a; 22b) opposite to the first side of the striking axis (14a; 14b). Thereby, a compact structure of the hand-held power tool (10a; 10b) can advantageously be achieved, and the operator can easily handle the hand-held power tool (10a; 10b).
